Perhaps the antithesis of the famous Cambridge Folk Festival, the 2011 Cambridge Rock Festival starts today! Taking place over four days from the 4th – 7th August at the Haggis Farm Polo Club in Barton, 15 minutes from the city centre, the Cambridge Rock Festival plays host to over 100 rock and blues acts across four stages, offers over 70 real ales for your delectation, and provides onsite camping so you can sleep it all off. Phew. Thursday’s performers include tribute acts such as Ultimate Eagles and the Pure Floyd Show. On Friday you can see the popular pub rock band Eddie & The Hotrods. Saturday’s highlight is sure to be The Quireboys. See up and coming acts on the Access to Music Stage and The Buskers Station.

If you’re not up for camping, there are a great number of accommodation providers and hotels in Cambridge for the Cambridge Rock Festival, including Southside Apartments, Alpha Milton Guest House and Holiday Inn Cambridge, all of which have availability for the duration of the festival.
